In the midst of a grumpy day, meeting up with lovely women from church and being able to chat, remember some perspective and enjoy a God who doesn’t get grumpy with us and who isn’t slow to welcome us into his arms when we are sorry for the hurt we have caused. Also catching up with the lovely John with conversations like this: John: “You’re married and I’m getting married! Remember when we were 15 and thought it would never happen?” Kath, laughing: “Remember when we were 29 and thought it would never happen?”. Good times 🙂

Day 12
Thankful for… A day of enjoyable work in the office, the lovely evening with a colleague of Husbandface chatting and helping her learn how to cook (well I proffered ‘helpful’ suggestions from the sidelines whilst he taught). Also chatting to the lovely Matthew Arnold (and his parents), making him smile and laugh as we played peekaboo over skype, loving his cheeky grin.
Day 11
Very thankful for… Mum and Dad, attending their last service at St Saviours, saying a last goodbye to my childhood home, grateful for the refuge it’s been for me over the years, the love and nurture of amazing parents and a God who has worked in and through their lives over the last 25 years in Guildford. Excited about their new move and very thankful for their steadfast love, perseverance as parents, example in sticking with marriage and for their friendship over the years.
