Haven’t left my chair in 2 hours. I could get used to this :) #firstdayoffintoolong #rest #reading #books #sitting #timegoestoofast #quiethouseLooking to the path ahead as I reflect on the last few weeks. We are on the edge of change but finding hope helping us walk on. Here’s part of my latest blogpost musing on where we are finding hope right now... Hope in the sunrise each morning, in the green carpet beginning to overtake the woods where I walk each morning. In the green shoots coming out of the buds which have been sitting there all winter, reminding me that we are never truly dead. In the sun streaming through windows, the lighter mornings and evenings, the endless swooping starlings swirling at dinner time out our back window. In the cuddles, the repair after the rupture, in the reading of stories, in the lego models adorning the window sills, in the quiet moments when our feet touch in the morning and we remember we are together in this, in the snatched kisses, the coffee in cold parks walking around and around whilst they play away from us for a few moments.Whilst it’s tempting to grit my teeth until Monday’s collapse, today I choose the finding of hope in Today. In the You who holds me in this life, in the Other who made such beauty, in the Hands that hold me as I walk on. Looking for Hope in this present tiredness. In the glistening frosty morning I am found, made and loved. You too. #hope #Today #present #loved #hellotothemorning #sunrise #beautyLast day of pandemic boys at home not schooling. Off to the beach for fun at the park, bikes and scooters meaning I actually got time to talk to my favourite and best over some coffee. 2 days to go. We can do this. And breathe. #beach #blueskies #conversation #coffee #sleepnowpleaseTonight’s activity seems to be making top trumps cards of people the boys know. First up is me. Mummy - Disgustingness - 0 (it was agreed that son2 would score 100) kindness - 100 huggles- 100 Fart smell 10 (out of 10 apparently) and funny - 40 (daddy wins that one with 100, son1 said, it’s just that you’re not that funny mummy... hmm). #toptrumps #atleasttheywrotesomething #rollonmondayRidiculously beautiful world. Soon the sun will rise before I get out of the house but these last weeks of sunrises are proving good for this weary soul. Especially when this line from Karine Polwart’s Four Strong Walls fills me with delight at the nature of my Makers love for me - “I see myself as you see me my friend, oh you put me back together again” #hope #spring #wonder #joy #sunrise #music #balmformywearysoulArchives

Saying goodbye to the wonderful John and Mandy Taylor.
I don’t know how these latest people to be given a blog post have got away without one so far. They are two of the most excellent people I know. They are about to embark on a new adventure away … Continue reading
Advent 22
Blimey I’m late today. Anyway. The wonder. Search for the wonder… Coffee, Bible and notebook to push away the morning grumps. Superman pose to start the day (see Grey’s Anatomy- apparently it is supposed to make you feel in control…). … Continue reading

Advent 20
The wonder is still around. A foggy morning run over the downs. Winter trees appearing suddenly through the mist. Joy through the gloom all around. A morning off. Sermon prep. Embracing the silence. Sitting reading with my favourite. Heading to … Continue reading

Advent 16
It’s been one of those days. One of those weary soul tiring days where there has been plenty of wonder but an underlying tone of exasperation, with the boys, with myself, with this imperfect world of ours. I have not … Continue reading

It’s Friday. It’s September. We have been back from our tour of the UK for a week now. At some point I want to blog about it all. At some point. It’s Friday. We’ve been back a week. This week … Continue reading

Goodbye Drumming, for now…
It was with a heavy heart that I decided that today would be my last African Drumming Class. Over pregnancy these have become increasingly hard to stay focused through and the new development of backache has made them pretty painful. … Continue reading
Sunny Day. New routine.
Today is experiment day, I’ve been in a new routine for the last month as I adjust to working three days in a row and having 4 days away from the office. Working Monday, Wednesday and Friday helped the week … Continue reading
Advent 15
Last night I experienced another one of those evenings where I was eternally grateful that I live in Brighton. The Beach Hut Advent Calendar is back this year and I had the joy of hanging out with the delightful Mandy … Continue reading

I feel the need to declare with great joy that I now write for Bored of Brighton. For those of you that dwell beyond the boundaries of Brighton and Hove (what are you thinking? move here now…) Bored of Brighton … Continue reading
White Night, Guillemots and more I *heart* Brighton joy.
It’s time for another one of those I love Brighton posts. This time it’s because of the world of White Night. A festival of arts and craziness that marks the turning back of the clocks, a celebration at the start … Continue reading
