Tonight’s activity seems to be making top trumps cards of people the boys know. First up is me. Mummy - Disgustingness - 0 (it was agreed that son2 would score 100) kindness - 100 huggles- 100 Fart smell 10 (out of 10 apparently) and funny - 40 (daddy wins that one with 100, son1 said, it’s just that you’re not that funny mummy... hmm). #toptrumps #atleasttheywrotesomething #rollonmondayRidiculously beautiful world. Soon the sun will rise before I get out of the house but these last weeks of sunrises are proving good for this weary soul. Especially when this line from Karine Polwart’s Four Strong Walls fills me with delight at the nature of my Makers love for me - “I see myself as you see me my friend, oh you put me back together again” #hope #spring #wonder #joy #sunrise #music #balmformywearysoulEven black dog days are made better with sunshine and pretty flowers. Hello spring hope. #blueskies #flowers #hopeSomething is missing... (there was a ramshackle play shed...) now to work out how to fit some trees, wild garden, firepit and seating into this space :) feels like we are moving well beyond early years parenting... #spring #gardenrescue #nextstageofparentingCleared out the garden and found this beauty :) frog or toad? #springcleaning #firstwarmday #springDaily SPRING is almost here post :) here’s the first wild primrose on our front lawn. Such hope of joys to come. #spring #cantgetenoughofit #hope #joy #primrosesArchives

Books I’ve read Jan- Feb 2021
A Manual for Heartache- Cathy Rentzenbrink A lovely book, really helpful words on what helps when your world has been devastated or doesn’t look like you ever thought. Practical, earthy, real, hopeful and easy to read. The 10,000 doors of … Continue reading
Books that I’ve read March-May 2020
Right, I’ve finally managed to write down which books I’ve read over the last 3 or so months in lockdown. My brain is fairly made of mush at the moment so I haven’t written comprehensive reviews, but here’s a flavour… … Continue reading
Life in Lockdown week 9…
The Friday round up is back, that old familiar blog post style from when things were super bad in our world and I needed to record the moments of our days and my thoughts about life. It’s funny how things … Continue reading

Life in lockdown: Week 2.
I forget what day we are now on. It’s the second week anyway. The second week of trying to navigate this new normal, to process the changes taking places in our society and world. To find new patterns of living … Continue reading

What I’ve read: The Jan-Feb edition…
March is upon us, the daffodils are out, buds are emerging, lighter mornings and evenings are upon us, all around rumours of Spring abound. In this sensing of a new season it feels fairly fitting to round up the books … Continue reading
What I’ve read… The bumper 3 month edition…
Recently I realised it’s been ages since I wrote down my burbling thoughts on the books I’ve read over the last erm, well, 3 months. To be honest reading has been a bit thin on the ground, a month of … Continue reading
What I’ve been reading, the January Edition…
Time seems to be moving at an all too rapid pace right now. So before February has disappeared, here’s what I read in January: Liturgy of the Ordinary- Tish Harrison Warren A brilliant book which takes you through an ordinary … Continue reading

The first Friday round up from 2018
I think the Friday round up will continue into 2018. Because, well, somethings shouldn’t change all that much. And it’s good for my head to know I will make myself write at least once a week. It’s Friday lunchtime and … Continue reading

What I’ve read, the July and August Edition.
I’m hoping this list will kick start me into reading properly again after a week of not reading much but a deeply irritating trashy novel on my kindle that my internal completer finisher won’t let me leave to one side. … Continue reading
What I’ve been into May/June edition.
I really dropped the reading mojo in May. It was a pretty horrible month. Husbandface briefly returned to work until being signed off again worse than before. I think I had a long cold that didn’t shift and reading got … Continue reading
