- Last day of pandemic boys at home not schooling. Off to the beach for fun at the park, bikes and scooters meaning I actually got time to talk to my favourite and best over some coffee. 2 days to go. We can do this. And breathe. #beach #blueskies #conversation #coffee #sleepnowpleaseTonight’s activity seems to be making top trumps cards of people the boys know. First up is me. Mummy - Disgustingness - 0 (it was agreed that son2 would score 100) kindness - 100 huggles- 100 Fart smell 10 (out of 10 apparently) and funny - 40 (daddy wins that one with 100, son1 said, it’s just that you’re not that funny mummy... hmm). #toptrumps #atleasttheywrotesomething #rollonmondayRidiculously beautiful world. Soon the sun will rise before I get out of the house but these last weeks of sunrises are proving good for this weary soul. Especially when this line from Karine Polwart’s Four Strong Walls fills me with delight at the nature of my Makers love for me - “I see myself as you see me my friend, oh you put me back together again” #hope #spring #wonder #joy #sunrise #music #balmformywearysoulEven black dog days are made better with sunshine and pretty flowers. Hello spring hope. #blueskies #flowers #hopeSomething is missing... (there was a ramshackle play shed...) now to work out how to fit some trees, wild garden, firepit and seating into this space :) feels like we are moving well beyond early years parenting... #spring #gardenrescue #nextstageofparentingCleared out the garden and found this beauty :) frog or toad? #springcleaning #firstwarmday #spring

We could argue whether this is lockdown 2 or 3 but for us in the world of small children at home it’s lockdown 2 for sure. The weird fake lockdown that happened in November just doesn’t count, I could still … Continue reading
I’ve lost count of the people over the years who ask: ‘why is she called Binface?’ I accept that she just is now. When we pray for her, we pray for Binface. Son1 doesn’t know she has another name. I … Continue reading
Thankful for… Lazy Saturday morning with Binface, asking each other the questions from the weekend section of the Guardian, chatting about ‘The God I don’t Understand’, trying to hold the questions together with trust in a God who is in … Continue reading
Thankful for… The arrival of Binface, cuddles, fish pie, trooping off to Sainsbury’s for chocolate and beer.
The utter, utter hilarity of the letting agent today. Really, are you SURE you want this dump? Really? The buzz, the fear, the joy, the insanity, the feeling of free fall as we jump. Telling all this to Binface and … Continue reading
Relief that I’m not really that mental after all. Enjoying the sunshine and exercise kick this morning. Binface, B, Brighton beach and pretty singing. The first shakeaway of the year. Nutella and malted milk biscuits. Mmmm.
