Paying attention 22

Peaceful sunny morning pottering around the flat. Enjoying just one son to look after. Sharing the weariness with other lovely ladies from church this afternoon. Love hanging out in Jo’shouse 🙂

Driving to my parents house in the sunny sun sunshine. Basking in a countryside just aching to burst into spring. Hanging out with the parents and with the excellent Roz plus nephews and niece. Son1’s joy in his cousins. Good chats with Roz. Lovely care of the grandparents for their five mental grandchildren. Feeling rested and glad of sharing the madness for a day.

Remembering the one constant in the whirlwind of life right now. The one who will never change, who does not grow tired and weary, who tells me who I really am, who holds my friendships, church family, family, house moves and more in his mighty hand. Moving into the day with that bedrock and discovering peace in the storm.

That moment in the day when I stare at the two beautiful boys in front of me and marvel that they came out of me. They were formed in me. I am their mother. That moment when my heart breaks with joy at the wonder, the fear, the sheer insanity of bringing life into this world. That moment when I wonder what life will bring them and us and know we are in this for the long haul and there is nothing, nothing I’d rather be doing in this life.
