Spent a very happy few hours today in the company of my wonderful colleagues Dave and Sam. We ate amazing food, we put the Christian world to rights and started working on our new podcast (working titles- ‘stop being weird’ or ‘you’re just embarrassing yourselves’…) we had meandering conversations about stuff in the Bible, God and what on earth the passages Dave is preaching on this week might be about.Grateful as ever for these beauties. A last fairly straightforward meet up for a while. But we are good at moving heaven and earth to hang out and pray together so the Irish Sea isn’t going to stop us. A lovely start to what promises to be a strange couple of weeks full of lasts for now and goodbyes and ALL the feelings. #friendship #autumn #goodbyes #allthefeelingsToday started with the promise of a Team Cunningham day, a day on our own, my blissful forward planing head decided it would be the day to help the boys process change. This didn’t happen in a nice sit down family discussion time (whatever the pieces of paper might indicate) we did though journey together through tired huge emotions and inbetween the rage gaps we talked about quests, adventures, parts in films where the story looks hopeless and redemption is then found, what will change, what won’t, what we are looking forward to and what scares us. We then pushed through grumps, got outside, found our joy and now are slumped in front of inside out which might just be helping us all ponder our emotions about moving right now. Not the perfect time I’d planned but a muddled messy journey. (Which might just be a indicator of the adventure to come…) #adventure #planning #sunrise #moving #redemption #hopeFirst of the proper goodbye, probably won’t see you until you come hang out with us in Northern Ireland evenings. These ladies (and one who couldn’t be there tonight) were instrumental in me staying sane in the pre school years. We shared life, babies, sleep deprivation stories, hung out at every baby group imaginable in the first year of parenthood, shared Friday mornings with each other for 5 years and have been through a lot of life together. Lovely to still be touching base in the madness albeit on a less regular basis and I will miss these wonders and forever be grateful for their friendship and warmth. #nctfortheemailaddresses #friendship #goodbyes #bittersweet #ahthememories #gratefulBack from retreating. An eye in the storm moving is creating. A space. A shelter. A safety. A silence to find the Silence at the heart of all this.Three weeks until we throw pretty much all the cards in our hand up in the air and see how they land in the next few months. Routines, rhythms, location and more will all change. Walking into the sunrise each morning reminds me that this might be a good thing.
